The Kościeliska Estate project in Szczecin, designed by Maxberg Architekci, has received recognition in the Architizer A+Awards – one of the world's most prestigious architectural competitions.
This achievement is particularly meaningful to us because the awarded project is not merely a bold architectural vision. The development, undertaken by Asset Development and built by Manillo, has already reached the halfway point of construction, and its exceptional qualities have been recognized by an international panel of experts even before completion.
Based in New York City, Architizer is one of the world's leading architectural platforms, reaching more than 400 million people globally. Its annual A+Awards competition has long celebrated projects that set new directions in architecture, urban planning, and spatial design. This year's jury included renowned architects such as Carlo Ratti, Marcio Kogan, Ma Yansong, and Koichi Takada, all of whom have significantly shaped contemporary architecture on a global scale.
The award-winning Kościeliska Estate was designed by Maxberg Architekci, led by Karol Nieradka, an acclaimed architect recognized for numerous innovative residential developments. Maxberg is responsible for the concept behind a project that is already considered one of the most exciting residential investments currently under development in Szczecin.
Kościeliska Estate comprises 33 terraced houses designed according to an entirely new approach. Each building features its own distinct architectural identity while contributing to a cohesive yet unique living environment. One of the project's most remarkable features is the unprecedented 26-meter distance between the buildings, providing residents with a level of privacy and comfort typically associated with detached single-family homes.
The architects placed particular emphasis on the relationship between architecture and nature. More than half of the development area is dedicated to green spaces, and the arrangement of the buildings has been carefully designed to maximize natural daylight and create welcoming communal areas for residents.
The project combines high-quality architecture with modern technological solutions. Each home is equipped with underfloor heating, a heat recovery ventilation system, pre-installation for photovoltaic panels, and infrastructure for electric vehicle charging stations. Additional advantages include private gardens and functional attic spaces that can be adapted into additional living areas, home offices, or studios.
The location of the development is equally noteworthy. The estate is being built in Gumieńce, one of Szczecin's most sought-after districts, offering proximity to recreational areas, schools, urban amenities, and convenient access to the city center.
This international recognition for Maxberg Architekci confirms that ambitious architecture, high-quality design, and consistent execution can result in projects that attract attention not only locally but also on the global architectural stage. We congratulate the Maxberg Architekci team on this success and are confident that Kościeliska Estate will continue to be recognized among the most outstanding residential developments in Poland and across Europe.
